Sol Guerrero Ortiz
Sol earned her master’s degree in wildlife conservation and management at the National University of Costa Rica (UNA). Her emphasis is on human-carnivore conflict management. She worked with the Tlahuica indigenous community in central Mexico as part of her undergraduate studies in biology at the National Autonomous University of Mexico (UNAM). She also was a member of the International Institute of Wildlife Conservation and Management (ICOMVIS) and the Mexican Association of Ethnobiology. Her primary interest is sustainable development, particularly helping rural and indigenous communities improve their quality of life. She is a 2016 Global Leadership Fellow and is a member of the Alliance training team.
