Nkechi is a deputy editor with Leadership Newspaper, a national publication headquartered in Abuja, Nigeria. She frequently covers biotechnology and biosafety issues. She is involved with the Open Forum on Agricultural Biotechnology, Nigeria Chapter; the National Biotechnology Development Agency; the Nigerian Institute of Public Relations; and the Nigerian Institute of Management. She has a bachelor’s degree in English language and literature, and is currently completing her master’s degree in English language at Nigeria's Nasarawa State University. She is a 2016 Cornell Alliance for Science Global Leadership Fellow.
