Winniefred Nanteza is a 2018 Winkler Family Foundation Fellow.

Winniefred is the development communication officer at the National Agricultural Research Organisation, where she develops and implements multifaceted communication programs and promotes agriculture’s role in food security and improved livelihoods.

Winniefred is currently finalizing her master’s in communication at Makerere University-Kampala. She has seven years of professional communication experience, working with farmers, policy makers, opinion and local leaders. She has written about agriculture, health and environment issues with a focus on modern agricultural biotechnology.

Her dream is to communicate science in a way that benefits, empowers and uplifts smallholder farmers, who constitute the majority of the farming population in Uganda.
