Katherine Briceño is a Graduate Research Assistant at the Institute of Environmental and Ecological Sciences (ICAE-ULA) in Venezuela, where she is working on the project "Changes in microhabitat and vegetation life-form structure inside cushion plants along an altitudinal gradient in the high tropical Andes." She has a bachelor’s degree in biology from the University of Los Andes. In recent years, she has been involved in various agro-ecology, urban agriculture, and recycling projects. She has also begun manufacturing soap from used oils and cultivating her own vegetables in response to her nation's product shortage crisis. ”
