Our 2019 Global Fellows

Hamadou Sidibe

Hamadou Sidibe is a 2019 Winkler Family Foundation Fellow.

Hamadou Sidibe is a plant breeder and the head of cowpea breeding at the Environmental Institute for Agricultural Research - Burkina Faso (INERA). He has over eight years of experience in cowpea breeding, seed production and farmer training.

Hamadaou is a current PhD student at the University of Ouagadougou (2017-2019) and has a master’s degree in plant breeding.

His motivation for joining the GLFP: “I think it’s the framework for me to gain new knowledge, to make good contacts with other participants for future collaboration and knowledge sharing. I am interested in agricultural biotechnology because it helps to improve plants and want to understand more about DNA, which makes it possible to find solutions to increased agricultural productivity and other nutritional aspects.”
