Gabriela Ramirez Carrasco is completing her master’s degree in plant biotechnology at CINVESTAV Campus Irapuato, Guanajuato, Mexico. She created a scientific comic that has been highlighted at several conferences, and assisted at the Cornell Alliance for Science Leadership and Grassroots Organizing Short-Course at El Batán, México, in February 2016. She loves talking to people about plants and biotechnology, and intends to pursue a PhD in science communication to influence the public perception of biotechnology in her community.”
