Alfred Namaasa
Alfred Namaasa is a 2018 Winkler Family Foundation Fellow.
Alfred is a district councilor with Mbale District Local Government, a position he has held since 2011. He advocates, administers, supervises, monitors and evaluates policies on behalf of the community he represents and works alongside with the chief administrative officer to implement government policies in areas of health, agriculture and education.
Alfred has advocated for more youth to consider farming as a business, constructing granaries to act as stores and planting trees for environmental sustainability.
He is currently pursuing a bachelor’s degree in public administration and management at Uganda Christian University and hopes that his participation in the GLFP will help him gain an oversight of agricultural biotechnology so he can transfer that knowledge to the community and political leadership in Uganda.
