Aisha Umar Agaie was the communication officer with the Open Forum on Agricultural Biotechnology (OFAB) Nigeria Chapter, scheduling press conferences and writing newsletters and press releases. She previously worked as a journalist for Media Trust, covering stories in Saudi Arabia, Indonesia, Abu Dhabi, France and Nigeria, and was an information officer with the National Biotechnology Development Agency. She was part of the team that participated in the 2012 Biotechnology Media Tour of America, sponsored by the US Department of Agriculture. She was a member of the Nigeria Institute of Public Relations (NIPR).

Aisha died Aug. 2, 2019, in Nigeria.
