OVERVIEW
The Alliance for Science is hosting a first-of-its-kind conference focused on the future of science communications.
This event convenes global experts, policymakers, media leaders, indigenous knowledge holders, and grassroots advocates to combat misinformation and enhance communication in critical sectors: food security, global health, climate change, and energy. Structured around four major flagships—Champions, Content, Culture, and Global Crises—the conference will explore innovative approaches to address misinformation and promote sustainable development across the Global South.
FORUM OBJECTIVES
• Reflect on Past Achievements: Celebrate a decade of science communication progress and honor key contributors.
• Address Misinformation: Develop strategic approaches to combat misinformation in food security, global health, climate change, and energy.
• Leverage Emerging Technologies: Explore how Artificial Intelligence (AI) and digital platforms can transform science communication.
• Champion Science Advocates: Empower and recognize science champions, including youth and women, driving change in their communities.
• Integrate Culture and Indigenous Knowledge: amplify the inclusion of cultural narratives and indigenous wisdom in science communication.
• Nurture Sustainable Partnerships: Engage stakeholders in co-creating solutions and securing long-term support.

Becoming Future Ready
Session 1: High-Level Plenary
The forum opens with a series of keynote addresses and performances that set the tone for the event. Speakers will reflect on the evolution of science communication and outline an inspiring vision for the future. The plenary also introduces the Alliance for Science Global Consortium, presenting its achievements over the past decade and its roadmap for the next phase. Interactive discussions with thought leaders will explore the transformative role of science communication in addressing global challenges. The focus is on Food Security, Energy Access, Climate Action, and Health Communications.
Session 2: Thought Leaders Sessions
This session will feature dynamic design discussions where participants explore emerging technologies and their potential to revolutionize science communication. A panel of experts, including representatives from AI and ethics organizations, will delve into the integration of artificial intelligence to engage diverse audiences and counter misinformation.
Interactive visualizations and video rapporteurs will capture key ideas, creating a foundation for further discussion. A second focus will analyze the nexus of energy, climate, and development engaging stakeholders in identifying strategies and funding opportunities for addressing misinformation within these interconnected domains.

Session 3: Keynote Presentations
Prominent thought leaders will present insights into the trends, drivers, and signals shaping
the future of science communication, with a focus on perspectives from the Global South.
Industry leaders will share cutting-edge approaches to data-driven communications, the
challenges of localizing content in indigenous languages, and strategies for creating a
world-class brand of science champions. The Alliance for Science’s origin story and its
vision for the future will be central themes, inspiring participants to join the journey
toward impactful science communication.

Session 4: Gala Dinner
The first day concludes with an exclusive gala dinner celebrating a decade of the Alliance for
Science. This event features an award ceremony, that honors extraordinary advocates, champions, partners, and investors. Highlights include a recognition segment for key partners and an unveiling of the Super League of Science Champions for 2063, showcasing the next generation of science communication leaders. The evening is designed to inspire, connect, and celebrate shared successes.

Towards Preferred Futures
Interactive Plenaries
Participants will engage in dialogues centered on elevating science champions globally
and integrating indigenous knowledge systems into science communication narratives.
The Indigenous Science and Technology Initiative (ISTI) will be launched and participants
will explore how cultural narratives and traditional wisdom can enrich and enhance
science advocacy efforts.
Communication Catalysts Session
This session focuses on the interplay between champions, content, and culture in driving impactful science communication. Participants will explore strategies to amplify messages and ensure they resonate with diverse audiences. The session highlights the importance of inclusive communication approaches to address misinformation and foster trust.
Launch of Communication Resources and 5-Year Sustainability Strategy
The forum concludes with the launch of an initiative called the Science Allies Portal, to create a comprehensive repository of resources on agricultural biotechnology, which is an important legacy of work done over the last decade. Participants will also be invited to provide feedback on the 5-year Sustainability Strategy of the Global Consortium and encouraged to form relevant partnerships to drive future flagship programs.
The intended outcome of the forum is to bring together like-minded partners committed to sustained engagement in advancing science communication. This session solidifies the collective vision and outlines actionable steps for the future.
