Based on the theme: Increasing Access to New Tools, Technologies, and Methods in Africa’s Agriculture, the symposium will deliberate on the future of biotech crops in Africa.
Participants will discuss how GMOs have been deployed on the African continent for the benefit of farmers, their impact so far, and their prospects. Also, participants will deliberate on the yet-to-be-realized potential that genome editing holds for the ongoing efforts to ensure Africa feeds itself.
Researchers, scientists, academics, industry players, government officials, regulators, and policy experts from all over the world, will be speaking at the symposium.
In the end, the symposium will propose pathways to making the African continent food-sufficient, using innovative technologies.
