In a bid to curb the spread of COVID-19, countries around the world imposed restrictions on movement. In Africa, the open air markets where fresh food is sold were closed, but people still needed to eat. Farmers rose to this challenge by innovating in their food delivery methods. Dr Emma Naluyima, a successful smallholder farmer and veterinarian from Uganda, leads a panel of three female African farmers as they share how they and other farmers have continued to feed their communities during the lockdown. Guests include Patience Koku, owner of Nigeria-based Replenish Farms, Zimbabwe’s Ruramiso Mashumba and Slyvia Tetteh, a farmer advocate from Ghana.
